The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Council convened for a marathon 27-hour session to discuss the state government's 'Uttar Pradesh Vision 2047' plan.
Over 200 MLAs and MLCs participated in the session, which involved a debate on the state's transformation proposal.
The session, which began Wednesday afternoon and concluded Thursday afternoon, was characterized by long hours, fueled by copious amounts of coffee, tea, and soup.
While some legislators skipped dinner to stay awake, others utilized snacks and made brief trips home for rest.
The session included speeches from various ministers outlining their departmental visions within the 'Vision 2047' framework, with proposals such as a naturopathy hospital in every region and a commitment to eliminating child labor.
Two bills were passed: the Banke Bihari Temple Trust Bill and one to increase legislators' salaries and allowances.
The Samajwadi Party staged a walkout in protest over the temple bill.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a two-and-a-half-hour closing speech, outlining the 'Vision 2047' plan's three themes, twelve sectors, and short, medium, and long-term goals.
The plan also incorporates public input through QR codes and the collaboration of subject specialists and NITI Aayog.
Despite the lengthy session, considerable enthusiasm was shown by participants, with many requesting additional time to speak beyond their allotted slots.
