Chennai Super Kings (CSK) addressed online speculation regarding their signing of Dewald Brevis as an injury replacement for Gurjapneet Singh in IPL 2025.

The franchise clarified that the acquisition strictly adhered to IPL regulations, specifically clause 6.6, which permits replacement players to be signed for a fee no higher than the injured player's auction price.
