Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of fraudulently adding over 100,000 votes to the Mahadevapura electoral rolls in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

His allegations centered on addresses with unusually high numbers of registered voters, particularly in areas housing migrant workers.

An investigation by The Indian Express into three specific addresses cited by Gandhi found that while a large number of migrants resided at these locations, those listed on the electoral rolls no longer lived there.

Caretakers and managers at these locations confirmed this, attributing the discrepancies to high turnover among migrant workers and the practice of some obtaining voter IDs to secure employment.

While Mahadevapura has seen significant population growth and an increase in properties, the growth in voter numbers is significantly higher than other Assembly segments in the area, leading to questions about the accuracy of the electoral rolls.

BJP leaders deny any wrongdoing and attribute their wins to natural growth..
