The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly commenced a 24-hour session to discuss the state's 'Vision Document 2047'.
The session, beginning Wednesday at 11:30 am, saw protests from the Opposition demanding responses on unfulfilled election promises from the BJP's 2017 and 2022 manifestos.
The Opposition also requested a longer session instead of the single 24-hour period.
To maintain continuous attendance, the government divided ministers into groups, assigning each a three-hour shift throughout the session.
A total of 28 ministers were assigned slots in the Legislative Assembly, and 18 in the Legislative Council, with ministers scheduled for even the overnight hours.
The session aims to present a departmental vision for 2047, aligned with Prime Minister Modi's vision for India.
The government responded to Opposition concerns regarding unfulfilled promises by stating that the 2022 election results demonstrated voter approval of their performance based on the manifestos..
